Meeting Tuesday, April 21st 

Our April meeting will feature Mrs. Janet McMahan, who will speak about fluoridation of the water supply. She was responsible for stopping fluoridation in Ocilla, GA, and is known as the “Georgia Water Lady.” Come hear her story of finding arsenic and other contaminants in the water supply and relating it to a rash of cancer cases, which included her son, Ben.

On your ballot in May will be a referendum question: “Because 73 studies have reported that elevated fluoride exposure is associated with reduced IQ in children, do you want to stop the traditional addition of fluoride to the Valdosta/Lowndes water supply?”

In addition to reduced IQ in children, excess fluoride consumption contributes to thyroid disruption and other health problems. Come learn the facts from our speaker.

A Meet & Greet begins at 6:00 pm and the meeting at 6:30 pm. 

Meeting location is the Comfort Suites Valdosta at 1332 St. Augustine Rd., Valdosta, 31601. It is next to the Holiday Inn Express behind Denny’s restaurant near Exit 18 on I-75. At the traffic light, turn into the Denny’s parking lot and drive to the far back. The meeting room is accessed by entering the lobby and is on the left side.

Advanced voting for the Primary Election begins April 27th. The new Advanced Voting Location is the Public Safety Training Center, 903 N. Patterson St., across from The Crescent. Election Day is May 19th at your assigned precinct.

The Elections Office needs poll workers to work the two weekends of early voting. The dates are May 2/3rd, and May 9/10th.  Saturdays are full days, but Sunday is 11-6. If you are interested in working, contact Robert Davila. Robert.Davila@lowndescounty.com

We will not have our monthly meeting in May because it falls on Election Day. Many of our members are poll workers, and others are helping to get out the vote.
